Surrey LSIP launch event: roundtable notes and actions
Six roundtables at the Surrey Local Skills Improvement Plan launch each discussed one of the plan's priorities. Choose a priority below to see what that group told us, the actions it points to, and how we could deliver them. If you'd like to lead on an action, use the form under each priority's table. Thank you to every employer, provider and partner who took part.
Next steps
Several themes came up across the tables: start careers engagement earlier, reach teachers and parents, ease DBS and insurance barriers to work experience, and share practice between larger employers and SMEs. These points still need input at the action groups:
- Construction: identify specific green skills and provision gaps, and agree the two actions to prioritise first.
- Social care: identify where digital tools would make the biggest difference.
- Employer engagement: develop guidance on retention, progression and succession planning.
